The Centre for family fun

Family time is important and Pensthorpe's aim is to encourage children to take an active interest in natural history.  Pensthorpe has a number of action-packed activities to help make this fun.

• Pond dipping - always a favourite and easy and safe at specially-designed ponds; with nets, identification sheets and buckets always available.
• Become a bug detective - the Bug Walk is full of leaf mould, bug boxes, wood piles and lots of minibeasts to look out for.   There is plenty of interpretation to help children discover the world of wigglers, flyers and crawlers!
• Be a nature quiz champion - take the challenge to find the words, and discover more about  Pensthorpe and its inhabitants.  The Nature Quiz can be combined with the Pensthorpe Young Explorers with a fun page for the younger visitors.
• Bird feeding - special food is available for feeding birds on both land and water,
• Binocular hire - bring or hire binoculars to let your children explore nature's treasures in more detail.

Seeing children captivated by nature is always a pleasure, so bring them along!
