Wensum Discovery Tour

Climb aboard our Wensum Discovery Tour, where our guides will take you to see the hidden treasures of Pensthorpe and unearth its history, dating back to the Ice Age, as well as looking at our current farming methods and conservation work - all from the comfort of our specially designed Land Rover and trailer. Commentary is provided by our enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides.

Your adventure begins in the Wensum Room where your guide will introduce you to Pensthorpe's history, including meeting an animal that roamed the land over 10,000 years ago!

Afterwards you will go to the remote parts of the Reserve and Wensum Valley, and explore secret places bursting full of nature. Children will enjoy the nature spotter sheets.

Launched by David Bellamy in 2004, the Tours have been a huge success, with a new trailer being added in 2009 which caters for wheelchairs. With up to four Tours daily (during Spring and Summer), starting at 11:15am, you are sure to find a time that suits your itinerary. On arrival, check on the departures blackboard for times and further details.

Should a Tour have to be cancelled your ticket price will, of course, be refunded.  However, visitors should note that vouchers, including Tesco's Deals Tokens, are not valid for redemption on the Tour.
