Wild About The Wensum
Since the first event in 2006, we have introduced and shared this small part of the Wensum Valley to more than 25,000 people. Our aim is to encourage visitors that may not have otherwise understood the importance, diversity and wider relationship of the Wensum to their local landscape. It is a major achievement that so many people leave with a better knowledge of the numerous organisations that work tirelessly to promote, protect and enhance this rather special river.
This year’s event is being held on Saturday 12th May and we are pleased to announce TV presenter, author and naturalist, Nick Baker, will be opening the event this year!

On 6th May 2017 we welcomed more that 2,500 happy visitors to the 11th anniversary of Wild About The Wensum. Our special celebrity guest was Jess French – TV personality, naturalist, author and local vet. The weather was a bit hit and miss, we had rain, wind and sunshine but we had lots of varied activities in the Wensum marquee and around the park itself. The theme was “Endangered Species: Children in the Countryside” and we worked closely with local schools to create a trail encouraging our visitors around the lakes.
