Exclusive Events

As part of our Bird and Wildlife Fair weekend two of our special guests, Simon King and Mike Dilger, will each be hosting an exclusive ‘out of hours’ experience. With spaces limited to just 25 people per event and all profits going directly to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust wetland restoration projects, these two exclusive events will be extremely popular, so we recommend booking your place now.

An evening with Simon King OBE

Saturday 18th May, 6pm-8pm
£35pp

Join seasoned naturalist and wildlife film maker, Simon King OBE, in association with Zeiss, for an exclusive evening event at our Wader Scrape hides, with canapés and a glass of Prosecco. The evening will provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy the Wader Scrape at a busy time of year after our Reserve has shut. Simon will point out the rich language of the wild both from the sounds he hears and the signs he spots, and will be able to answer your wildlife (and photography) questions during your time with him. He will also give you hints and tips on how to get the most out of your optics, be they binoculars or spotting scopes, including how to use your spotting scope to get excellent images with your smart phone. Pensthorpe Reserve Manager, Richard Spowage, will also be on hand to talk more generally about the diverse habitats that make up the reserve and the myriad of species found here.

We advise you wear warm clothing, sensible footwear and don’t forget your binoculars!
