An afternoon guided walk discovering our Dazzling Dragonflies

The reserve is home to many different species of dragonfly and damselfly with so many to see here on the reserve and around the park. Interested to learn more about these highly colourful and intriguing insects? Why not, join us for an afternoon walk along the river, around the lakes and through the flower meadow on our Dazzling Dragonflies event to spot and identify some of these jewel-like insects and learn about their behaviour. Seeing adult dragonflies as they dart along vegetation looking for prey is an unforgettable experience for all ages. However this is only half of the story as they spend most of their life underwater! We’ll investigate their aquatic development on our return to the Wildlife Education Centre.
