Hootz House Indoor Play – An epic indoor adventure
The news that indoor play can reopen as of Saturday 15th August is a very welcome one however, having read government guidance on how to safely operate, there are many factors for us to consider and plan, in order for us to reopen Hootz House safely.
Our priority is the safety of our staff and visitors. We have been operating bookable time slots for Hootz House since it opened in 2015, so we are very experienced in managing a limited and safe capacity for our visitors to have a memorable and great experience. To adhere to government guidelines, we will need to reduce the capacity even further. This would mean that a much smaller percentage of our visitors would be able to use Hootz House during their visit. As Hootz House is included in the overall admission price we certainly do not want to disappoint our visitors, so it is important for us to come up with a reopening plan and booking system that manages visitor expectations.
Other factors that will determine how soon we can reopen Hootz House include: carrying out a full risk assessment including consultation with H&S specialists; certain play items having to be removed as per legislation; adjusting our catering offering in Hootz House; the financial viability of bringing our indoor play staff back from furlough and; how we will carry out play equipment sanitising routines as well as regular deep cleaning. There is a lot for us to work on so it would not be right for us to rush the reopening.
We would like to reassure you that we are working on a reopening plan however, for now, we hope that our visitors enjoy making the most of the great outdoors and all we have to offer for a day out amongst wildlife and nature. Our outdoor play area, WildRootz, continues to offer families a great adventure play experience in a safe environment. Many of our visitors are making up for lost time by exploring the park and embracing a reconnection with nature.
We will announce a reopening date for Hootz House as soon as we can.
We recommend that you read our Before You Visit page carefully to understand everything you need to know before you visit, what to expect when you visit and how to book.
